Cheers to 2 Years!
As I finish up my second official year as The Resume Fox, I am filled with emotions - gratitude, pride, and excitement, among many others. The gratitude for my clients and hearing the amazing opportunities they land with their new, fresh resumes. The pride I take in working with clients, launching the student resume workbook, and organically growing my business from scratch. And the excitement for what is yet to come.
Happy 2 Year Birthday!
We are finishing off year #2 with a bang and officially launching The Resume Fox’s blog!
Just last year, I was recruiting part-time while also running The Resume Fox. Now I am creating resumes and growing The Resume Fox full-time and loving every moment! It might sound crazy, but I truly wake up every morning excited to share my clients’ experiences on their resumes.
Recruiter turned Resume Writer
Where did this love of resumes come from? My recruiting experience began in college through various internships and leadership positions. I was fortunate to have creative freedom with recruitment initiatives at an auto-parts warehouse, a university, and an executive recruitment firm.
Following graduation, I began recruiting in healthcare for all types of roles: healthcare providers, executive leaders, and surgery and laboratory professionals. At one point, I was reviewing 150+ resumes a day. While some would think this is monotonous, I enjoyed hearing each applicant’s story, learning more about them as a human and as a professional. This sparked my love for sharing accomplishments on resumes.
How it all started
Friends and family would often ask, “Could you take a look at my resume?” and I was happy to share my recommendations. I then began writing resumes for friends and family. My lovely Grammie said, “You should start a resume business!” and I did just that…
In two years I have enjoyed working with professionals, leaders, and students to tell their stories. Hearing the confidence after revamping their resume leaves me with the warmest feeling of pride, and I look forward to helping many others in year #3!
When I’m not writing resumes,
You can find me reading deliciously good books, especially historical fiction and contemporary romance. My husband and I love taste testing new restaurants. And my Chief Barking Officer, Arlo, and I love going on daily walks patrolling the neighborhood for rabbits and squirrels.
More gratitude, because I am feeling extra emotional and thankful:
To Helena and Kahla, for bringing the most amazing ideas and color to The Resume Fox.
To my Papa, for helping me grow as a small business owner.
To my parents, for believing in me every step of the way.
And to Matthew, my biggest fan, and whose unwavering confidence encourages me every day.
